The School of Economics and Finance was established in 2014 through a merger of the Departments of Economics Theory, Accounting and Auditing, Economic Modelling, and Financial Management. The School is headed by Tatiana Bukina.
The aim of the School is to create and develop a community of academics and professional practitioners from the fields of theoretical and applied economics, corporate finance and financial markets.

Elena Shakina, Petr Parshakov and Sofia Paklina became members of the Council for Data of the Federal Service for Labor and Employment (Rostrud), which is aimed at solving the tasks of the department using digital technologies.
In order to implement the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence for the Period up to 2030, based on the objectives of achieving "digital maturity" of public administration in the field of labor and employment within the framework of the national goal "Digital Transformation", a Council was created for data of the Federal Service for Labor and Employment. The corresponding order was signed on June 10, 2021. More information is presented here (in Russian).
Within the framework of IDLab, the process of digital transformation is actively investigated, including in the labor market. Theoretical and empirical research is underway, for example, on the value of skills and importance of digital competencies in the labor market.
